How the project works
Through community research, Zero Hunger Cape Breton identified various factors contributing to the issue of food insecurity. Subsequently, Zero Hunger Cape Breton actively engaged with the community by launching and participating in initiatives aimed at combating food insecurity and contributing to local food banks through donations, working towards alleviating hunger in the region.
Project Impact
Zero Hunger Cape Breton successfully raised awareness about food insecurity and shared its impacts with the community, fostering understanding among individuals who may have been previously unaware. Through partnerships with remarkable individuals and organizations, we were able to make a meaningful difference. Since the inception of the project, food bank usage in Cape Breton has increased by 80%. Zero Hunger Cape Breton not only replenished the shelves of local food banks and cupboards but also organized enjoyable activities like a Christmas gift card bingo at the local food bank, enhancing the experience for those facing food insecurity..
Project Mission
Zero Hunger Cape Breton strives to continually aid those plagued by food insecurity and incite change within the systems that allow the hunger crisis to be upheld.
