Jenny Zheng

Jenny Zheng is a Vancouver-based painter and illustrator whose work is inspired by her experiences with mental health and the ongoing journey of personal healing and growth, particularly as a neurodivergent artist. Her style blends the playful aspects of pop art with the symbolic aspects of folk art, incorporating cultural and thematic symbols. Working with acrylic paint and digital media, Jenny seeks to capture the energy and strength of the coexistence between humanity and nature. Jenny believes that art speaks a universal language with a kind of magic that touches each person uniquely and hopes to inspire others.

A Moment in Time

"A Moment in Time" is a mural project that captures the essence of everyday life, inviting us to embrace the present and appreciate the small moments we often overlook. It highlights the quiet beauty in the mundane, a beauty that transforms into nostalgia as we reflect on the past. This mural serves as a gentle reminder to cherish the simple, everyday experiences before they slip away.

    When it comes to community impact projects, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These are the Sustainable Development Goals associated with my project.

      How the project works

      Creating a mural will include securing a stakeholder, working together to draft a mural design, buying supplies, and painting the mural. The targeted completion date is November 10th.

      To use art as a form of community engagement to create an activation space that spreads positivity transcending language barriers and bringing together people from diverse backgrounds.

      My mission is to raise awareness about mental health and provide safety through art. I am dedicated to nurturing and expanding communities centered around art and mental well-being.
